2025 Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5k
We’re looking forward to our 3rd annual Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5k. Prices will be slightly higher than last year, but still extremely affordable!! The courses are the same as last year’s courses. Links to the course maps can be found below.

Come join us for the 3rd Annual Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5k!
- The Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5K courses are flat and fast along the S Platte River.
- Both courses start and finish at Riverdale Regional Park, across from Adams County Fairgrounds.
- Along the course you will enjoy wildlife, placid waters, and scenic views as you run these PR attainable courses.

Half Marathon starts at 8 am

5k starts at 8:45 am
Race day registration will begin at 7:00 am.
Packet pickup for pre-registered racers also is on race day morning and will begin at 7:15 am.
Directions and Parking:
From Denver, take I-76 east to exit 12 (US-85 North). Take US-85 north to 124th ave. Take a left on 124th ave (Henderson Road). Take a right on Park Blvd. Take a right on Campground way. The parking lot will be on the right.
All Racers will receive:
- Swag to be determined soon.
- Post-race pancake breakfast.
- Age group awards.

2025 Courses:
Course Descriptions:
5k: Flat and fast, about 50% paved, 50% smooth dirt.
Half Marathon: Mostly flat and fast, ~3.5mi smooth dirt. It starts with a loop around Mann-Nyholt lake, up to the N, by the S/F again (at about 2mi), back around the lake again. Then, head S, slightly uphill, to Valente Lake. There, you’ll do a 1.2mi loop on smooth dirt. Then, return back, slightly downhill, to the finish.
There are three aid stations that you’ll hit multiple times: ~0.8, 2.8, 4.25, 7.1, 8.25, 11.1, and 12.5 miles.
