Trophy Series January 2009 – 10k at Twin Lakes

111 Runners came out on a warm January day for RMRR’s first race of the year.  Memorable moments included:

  • Tristan Mitchell’s new course record for the men with a time of 35:17!
  • welcoming 23 new members to their first race!
  • a surprise visit from the paramedics!
  • a surprise lock on the bathroom door at the park!

We know now that Rich Friedman is doing well after bypass surgery (!).  Thanks to everyone who helped Rich on the course.  We’ll look forward to seeing him running with us again soon.

Fast Male:  Tristan Mitchell with a NEW COURSE RECORD TIME of 35.17

Fast Female:  Deb Cunningham with a time of 45.59

Fast Walker:  Mike Blanchard with a time of 1:03.04

The December Trophy Series race at Wash Park was the final race of the year, and we can now announce the winners of the 2008 Rocky Mountain Road Runners Trophy Series! Below the fold you will find the year-end results for Runners, Walkers, Scatch (non-handicap) men and women, and the Resolute Runner award. We’ve listed the top 5 in each category; the spreadsheets at the links include the complete results. Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks for participating. Remember, the competition for the 2009 trophies begins on January 11th at Twin Lakes park!

November 2nd Trophy Series results — 9 Mile Westminster City Park

Sunday, November 2nd, was a beautiful day for the 9 mile Westminster City Park Trophy Series race. Thanks to Heather Reddy, Alicia Nix & Eric Greene for a flawlessly run race.

We had two new records:

  1. Oldest race walker to win scratch – John Lyle at 75
  2. Course record for 9  mile @ Westminster City Park  Adam Feerst 55:27 (6:10 pace). (Mike Quispe also beat old mark.)
