Fall 2014 Marathon Training Series #3 28Sept – Results

Sunday September 28th saw a warm but still quite nice day for a longer run. We had 50 runners come join us – great!

Parker Fleming (time of 1:02:07), Hector Martinez (1:04:53), and David Rothenburger (1:08:56) came in 1-2-3 for the 10M race, while Brian Richter (2:29:42), Jeff Ross (2:38:30), and Paul DeFelice (2:38:47) finished 1-2-3 in the 20M race.

Thanks to race directors Scott Dailey and Michael Cosper, along with all the volunteers who helped the race go well.

October 2014 Trophy Series at Cottonwood Park

Fantastic day for the longest Trophy Series race at Cottonwood Park in Parker on SATURDAY October 4 at 9am. 10M and 5k versions gave something for everyone, and the weather was just lovely.

Deb Cunningham was fast female with a time of 1:17:53, and Neil McDonagh lit the course on fire with a time of 56:55 (5:47 pace)…AFTER running the 5k and blazing it, too!

Tina Akin was top Trophy Series runner, followed by Todd Daily and Sara Foster. Ed Gussie was top racewalker, followed by Mike Blanchard. Nice work, friends!

We also had a great set of runners from Brown Elementary and JD Hatter’s Eagles running club. Way to run, kids – you did great!

Thanks one more time to all the great volunteers – you are what makes these races work.

Email from Leslie Mitchell: “Hi everyone – once again, I am out of town and will miss the board meeting. I’ve attached the current financials. Of note:

Our income is down substantially from YTD 2013. Membership revenue is down by $1,700, primarily in the amount of dues paid by check. Does anyone have any checks that members have given them for renewal?

Trophy Series revenue is down as well. This is a bit of a catch-all account. Anytime there is excess cash in the cash box, it gets deposited to this account (I don’t know where else to put it). So this account tends to have big swings in it, but usually by this time in the year it has evened out. Is there excess cash in the cash box?

Expenses are in line with last year. As a reminder, we had a big purchase of Trophy Series award ribbons last year. If you take that expense out (roughly $1,000) our expenses are in line.

So overall, I am concerned about membership revenue. I went to the post office last week and collected checks from Dave Cunningham, so I think everything has been deposited that I am aware of.
