RMRR Marathon Training Series

Time to get ready for your spring marathon…this is the series of training races for you!  Everyone is welcome:  RMRR members, non-members, everyone!  Thinking about running Colfax this year?  We’re proud to announce that we’re also the official training series for the Colfax Marathon!

Look at registration options now!!

RMRR makes sure you get 10M and 20M races that are fully supported, officially timed, and well run.  All you need to do is focus on your running!  Our races fit perfectly in training schedules for Colfax, Boulder Marathon, Rock n’ Roll Denver Marathon, Chicago, and other full and half marathons.  Spring MTS races begin at 8am at Twin Lakes Park in Denver, and Fall races have a 7am start at Westminster City Park.

Registration:  We’ll add Fall MTS registration info later in the summer.  You’ll be able to register through the Active links below or mail in the Fall 2012 MTS application with your check.  You’ll also find the application at metro Denver Runners Roost and Boulder Running Company locations.

You can also register on race day for $5 more.  Please plan to arrive early for these races to get signed in and have time to stretch out.  Races will start on time.

Terrain

The course is a 5 mile out-and-back segment of trail.  The 10 mile runs this once, the 20 twice.   You’ll find aid stations with water, electrolyte drinks, and energy bars or gels at the start, and roughly the 2 mile point, and 4 mile mark. We’ll have post-race food, drinks, and awards for the top three 20M finishers when you’re done.

Our Spring series is on the Clear Creek trail traveling northwest from Twin Lakes Park.  The trail is a paved bike path.  This course is slightly downhill on the way out and slightly uphill on the return.  It follows the creek, so is flat.  The only “hills” appear where the trail travels under a street.

The Fall MTS at Westminster City Park course consists of 60% hard-packed dirt and 40% concrete, with occasional rolling hills.

Both courses are clearly marked, and mile markers will help you gauge your time.
