Rich Friedmann update 1/27: Deb spoke to Rich on Tuesday evening. He is home from the hospital and doing well. The doctors kicked him out of the hospital on Friday because he was in such good shape from his running.
Rich is looking at a 6-8 week recovery, which is surprisingly short given the 6 artery bypass. He can run again and is looking forward to seeing club members in a few months.
Rich said to thank you for all the well-wishes, cards and visits.
/21/09: Rich is home. Looking at a 6-8 week recovery. He’s looking forward to seeing us all in a few months. Rich thanks all of you for the visits, get-well cards, and well-wishes.
1/17/09: Rich had surgery on Monday and had six arteries bypassed. His wife, Karen, thought he would be in ICU through Tues. The pre-op plan was for him to come home around Friday.
Rich emailed us previously: “To All RMRR Members, especially those who assisted me on Sunday: My utmost and deepest “THANK YOU”. I will be having bypass surgery on Monday at St. Joe’s. Five artieries have to be taken care of. Eight week recuperation than back to running. See you all soon!” We can’t wait!

We had a great turnout at the January 10k race at Twin Lakes. 111 Runners came out on a warm January day for RMRR’s first race of the year. Memorable moments included Tristan Mitchell’s new course record for the men with a time of 35:17, welcoming 23 new members to their first race, and a surprise visit from the paramedics.
Despite a snafu with the bathrooms where the Adams County park department didn’t get the doors unlocked, everyone soldiered through and had a good time. The year is off to a promising start.

- 2 mile TS on Sunday, May 31 followed by a pancake breakfast
- Monday, June 1: Reunion event w/ birthday cake at Runner’s Roost on Colorado Blvd.
- Tuesday, June 2: Wash park fun run
- Wed, June 3: Track workout @ Heritage HS (Littleton) led by former RMRR member Maureen Roben. This event includes Phidippides Track Club and the Colorado Columbines.
- Thurs, June 4: Trail run with Denver Trail Runners followed by a potluck.
- Friday, June 5: Predict race from BRC in Littleton.
- Saturday, June 6: 50 mile relay at Heritage HS track.
